MARILEE'S PRIZE APRON

REVERSIBLE APRON WINNER
Marilee won this wonderful apron at her quilt guilds Pirate Gift Exchange. Stolen . . . but she stole it back. Just happens it was from our Reversible No-Hem Apron pattern.
Love their fabric choices for the front and the reverse as well.
Aprons are a great gift anytime. I had a request from my daughter-in-law to make one for my 2 year old grandson . . his sister received one last year . . so it was only fair.
That was fun . . Truck fabric . . what else.
Hope you are all having some

Hi . . It's me Reets. Remember? 2018 has been a bit of a challenge so far. But it's time to get back to creating. I needed something to make me laugh. I can always rely on Halloween and a whimsical witch to do that. There will be a wall hanging and a little pouch. I'll let you know when this pattern becomes available . . as soon as i write up the instructions.
Fiber on A Whim now has some wonderful hand dyed velveteens. I'm just finishing up a small project combining some of their wonderful velveteen colors with our wools. Velveteen is a dream . .so much easier to work with than velvet and just shmoozes up so nicely with our hand dyed wools. Perfect match! This pattern will be soon available also. Keep an eye on our FB page . . or here for it's release.
Ok

4-H STITCHERS
![]() |
| 4-H Leader guiding young hands towards stitching the world back together. |
Photo from Made Local Magazine,
picked up in Santa Rosa area at one of my favorite bookstores.
With today's news feeds of devastating fires, frequent shootings, increasing poverty, a seemingly stagnant congress and so on . . it makes complaining an easy task . . a feeling of hopelessness soon to follow.
As i read this article i was reminded that there are many people in our complex society, like these 4-H leaders, who choose to turn their back on hopelessness and lament and instead turn to tasks that create good in the world.
I'm keeping this image in the forefront as often as possible.
And then there was this, perhaps the most inspiring part of the entire article.
The 4-H PLEDGE
I pledge my head to clearer thinking,
My heart to greater loyalty,
My hands to larger service,
And my health to better living.
For my club, my community, my country, and my world.
It should be called
The Universal Pledge

AUNT BERNIE'S CHARITY QUILTS
My Aunt Bernie, 87, is visiting her family in southern California. She has given us so many wonderful stories but this has to be the best. She is still making blankets and quilts for charities.
Here is the tale from My Stuff Bags Foundation in So. Cal. ...
This story just came to us from Jenn, and it was just too precious not to share! Jenn’s mother Bernice Knecht, lives in Westerville, Ohio and has been making blankets for My Stuff Bags for years. Bernice came out here to visit her grandchildren and wanted to personally deliver some of her blankets. Unfortunately, she arrived at My Stuff Bags on a Friday and we were closed, and returned on Sunday, but we were still closed. Bernice was determined to leave her blankets, so she ingeniously stuffed them through our tiny mail slot! This is her story in pictures. Be sure to read the captions.

SNOWMAN DANCE ON A STOCKING!
My SIL from North Carolina has added four more stockings to her long list of Reets projects. She is putting me to shame . . . she has made a stocking for almost everyone in her extended family! I love how she changes the patterns. Snowman Dance looks warm and wonderful . . he doesn't have to be a Bellringer. Why didn't I think of that. Love the neutral background and plaid toe and heel. She made two pink Santa Brings The Tree stockings as well. Beautiful appliqué job Antoinette.

Never too early to get going on Christmas projects!
But whatever you are stitching up . .
I hope it is adding joy to your day.

QUILTMANIA AT SEWING AND STITCHERY EXPO
Just back from a very good Sewing and Stitchery Expo in Puyallup Washington. I was so happy to see my Quiltmania friends Carol and Claire. They had a wonderful booth. Look for their beautiful magazines at your next show.

Many of you ask what our best selling patterns are and of course that changes a bit from show to show. But this little pattern, even though it has been around awhile, ranks right at the top almost every show. Love those "little mighties". Thank you Mini Scissors Case. Best selling kit right now seems to be Wickedy Jig. Will try to get the kit back on the website as soon as we can get them restocked.
