JUST THE RIGHT SPARKLE

Things light up with these teeny copper wire led lights.   Like this strand because it is very long, it plugs in, is dimple, and has a remote.  OxyLED Dimmable LED String Lights.
Gotta get some more of these.

LULU MOONWOOD MURAKAMI CLASS

Lulu Moonwood Murakami. of lulumoonart.com held a class in her studio.  I see some Vancouver friends there working away.  Lulu is an incredible mixed media artist and doll instructor in the Portland area.  I love how she added a Mrs. Claus to go with Santa.  Her faces alone justify taking her class.  This is from Little Santa Things pattern.   Love every one of these.  Click on the photo for an enlarged view.  I would love to be in that studio wouldn't you?

STOCKINGS WERE HUNG

Just look at these. . .  Jean used one of our stocking patterns and created a mantels worth of gorgeous stockings.  I love ALL of the color changes and the pieced multi colored backgrounds.

More stockings from Antoinette.  I think she has stitched up almost every one of our stocking patterns multiple times.  I love how she put Santa On The Way on two different sized stockings.
Time to stitch!

FRANKENSTEIN AND FRANKENSTINA

I hope that you followed the Halloween Blog Hop link i posted on our FB page last week.  You may have found the free "Frankie" pouch pattern posted by Debbie from The Wooden Spool Blog.  One of the granddaughters wanted to do a girl with hair so we added Frankenstina.  The other wanted RED eyes instead of black.  Love that don't you?  This was their first stitching lesson and they were beyond enthusiastic.   With a little help they stitched the eyes on, stitched the hair on and followed the little line across for the mouth.  They were so tickled with these that they jumped out of bed early in the morning and dashed downstairs to retrieve them from their special little hanger.
I think that i had almost more fun than they did.

Thanks Debbie . . for the adorable pattern.

LOST COAST INTERPRETIVE ASSOCIATION QUILT

Lost Coast Interpretive Association's Quilt - County Fair Winner!

Our local group, Lost Coast Interpretive Association displayed their quilt in the county fair.   A group of artists, not necessarily quilters,  designed and pieced together this incredible quilt.   It was huge and of course this photo does not do it justice.
This group's main focus is on education: "education about the landscape, the geology, the plants and animals, and the cultures of the Lost Coast region."
They travel with their quilts to schools and organizations to teach  about the environment and to light a spark in young inquisitive minds  They do this . . and so much more.   Such an asset to our community.

OFF TO THE WORKSHOPS

Saltbox Angel Class
The van is packed and ready to head to my Woolie Weekend teaching Saltbox Angel at Bolt in Cloverdale.  I'm so looking forward to stitching wool with others again.   Since the class filled up we added a second day.   Which means I get to stay an extra night with my daughter, SIL and granddaughter!

Perhaps she will teach me to bake.
And then there is the Friday's In Forestville event.  I may need to drop in on my SIL's wine tasting shop!  Have you ever tasted Joseph Jewell Wine?

Friday Night in Forestville
Missed this event - 1st Annual Wine Makers Dinner
With Joseph Jewell at Starscape Vineyard.

Yep .  missed this one too but i don't think i could have gotten in.

Joseph Jewell wines being served at State Dept. Dinners!
So i guess that i will be happy with just Friday's in Forestville .  and hope that i get to that workshop on Saturday!  Drop by if you are in Cloverdale Saturday or Sunday.

WOOL APPLIQUE CLASSES . . BACK TO IT !!

Part of Saltbox Angel - Class Project
Hope you had some stitching fun today.  I did.  Finishing up this little Saltbox Angel.
I'm part way thru my 3 year plan to reduce vending at so many shows and increase time for design . . .  and to get back to teaching wool appliqué classes occasionally.   Working on some simple projects that can be completed in a one day class.
This is part of Saltbox Angel, almost done.  At a later date there will also be an expanded version of the pattern and i will put it on the website.
I used to love to teach classes and lately have been missing it.  I often learn more than i teach . . not to mention the fun.   Possibly i'll announce a class in Northern CA. Santa Rosa area in August but that has not yet been confirmed . . have lost my touch at scheduling things ahead.

Also finishing up those instructions for Wickedy Jig.
Make sure you visit us on Facebook.  Link in our side bar.
Have also recently started an Instagram board . . not sure why . . but it's all fun.
Stitch On!
